Bootcamp 10.4 was beta and the launcher would fail to run after a certain date. I had installed it with no issues and it corrupted a couple of years later and i was unable to repair it until i rolled back the clock. I in fact had to use this method to repair my bootcamp install on OS 10.4. Note that this gives you an increasing inaccuracy in your system clock after a while. Trialware that is date-sensitive i've seen bypassed by changing the system clock before launch and setting it back as soon as launch is complete. You usually can just copy all the registry entries and overwrite them with a custom launcher every run. Trial-ware is a whole different solution.
